During the course Entrepreneurship in Water Sports and Travel (University of Coimbra) there has been – among others – two experts I invited to share some of their knowledge. Lac Campbell is the Surfing Copywriter and Hans van Mourik is co-founder of SurfaWhile and is very knowledgeable around Digital Marketing.
On Saturday July 20th, we’ve had the pleasure to welcome Lac Campbell, the one and only The Surfing Copywriter, to share his experiences and stories around copywriting, SEO, websites and many other topics related to surf and tourism.
We met Lac through the Surfpreneurs Club, a network of entrepreneurs within the surf industry. It’s just another example of how we have been combining our own knowledge, experience and expertise with external professionals.

On Monday the 22nd of July I had the pleasure to host Hans van Mourik for an online guest lecture on Digital Marketing.
During the first edition of this course, last year, Hans also did such a guest lecture and it was a great success. It would only make sense to do it again this year and the students were impressed again. I already shared the SurfaWhile story with them so it was much easier for everyone to follow Hans’ stories, explanations and real-life examples.
Digital Marketing is obviously a subject you could already host a 2-week course on, time that sadly isn’t available within this course (as we focus on Entrepreneurship during these 2 weeks). But an in-depth guest lecture did give the students a sense of direction to understand which specific areas would be important to them and their businesses.
Some of the students are on the verge of starting a business or taking their business to a next level and these tips (especially: the understanding in a broader perspective) have been truly useful as they have told me.
This experience also made me realise how ‘luxurious’ it was to be working with someone having that amount of knowledge on this topic, something I really don’t know much about myself
