Yesterday, on June 20th, the yearly barbecue and network event of the ANVR took place. The setting was beautiful, as we could overlook the sun setting into the sea whilst enjoying the facilities of one of the beach bars in Zandvoort aan Zee.
The ANVR is the Dutch Association of Travel Agents an Tour Operators and generally serves the largest travel companies of the country. Smaller companies (if so) are part of another association.
The event was a great opportunity to check-in with acquaintances and industry friends, meet new people in the travel space and hear the latest trends from the industry. However, this event was mainly about enjoying, not so much about ‘work’.
Frank Radstake took the floor, just 10 days before taking on the role of head of the ANVR. Frank Oostdam will step down after leading the organisation for 17 years. It’s very likely Frank Radstake will continue to same approach but he probably will add some of his own taste to it. The future will tell.
