A Short Course Event Management in Amsterdam

In the vibrant city of Amsterdam, Olmo van Beurden has been making waves in the realm of education by teaching Event Management from an entrepreneurial perspective. The course described below has not been taught under the flag of Level Entrepreneurship.

At the UIBS (United International Business School) campus in Amsterdam, students from diverse corners of the globe gathered in April 2024 to delve into the dynamic world of event planning and management.

The classes were not your typical lectures but rather immersive experiences enriched with practical stories, theoretical frameworks, and insightful guest lectures from industry experts. From Italy to Jordan, Bahrain to France, and from Russia to Romania, students from all corners of the world attended the classes, united by their shared passion for entrepreneurship and event management.

Central to Olmo’s teaching philosophy was the emphasis on the “Why” of creating an event—a question that transcends logistics and planning to delve into the deeper purpose and impact of each gathering. By instilling in his students a strong understanding of the underlying motivations driving event creation, Olmo empowered them to craft meaningful experiences that resonate with their audiences and drive tangible results.

Moreover, Olmo underscored the importance of value creation in event management—a concept that extends beyond mere attendee satisfaction to encompass broader societal and economic impacts. Whether it’s fostering community engagement, driving brand awareness, or generating revenue streams, Olmo challenged his students to think critically about the value propositions inherent in every event they conceptualize and execute.

Throughout the course, students were encouraged to think creatively, collaborate effectively, and hone their problem-solving skills—all essential attributes of successful entrepreneurs in the fast-paced world of event management. By immersing themselves in real-world case studies, engaging in hands-on projects, and leveraging insights from industry professionals, students emerged not just as event planners but as visionary leaders poised to make a meaningful impact in the ever-evolving landscape of events.

It has been great to be inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs and event managers to dream big, think boldly, and create experiences that leave a lasting impression on the world. The course described has not been taught under the flag of Level Entrepreneurship.
