Early March 2025 Level’s Olmo van Beurden visited the city of Barcelona to provide an in-person Masterclass on Idea Validation at the European Business School (EBS Paris). This interesting and very interactive session included ‘new’ and ‘existing’ problems, dreams and much more.
Olmo was welcomed to the university by Willem van Rossem, the Manager of the Ferrières Hospitality & Luxury Management School (the same Educational Group as EBS). The fact that Ferrières knows really well what they are talking about came clear right away. Beneath the school, their own bakery is located and Willem treated us a coffee and anything of choice. The cruffin (croissant + muffin) with a pistachio filing was finger licking good! That’s already a reason to come back.
The students taking part in the Masterclass were generally fairly inexperienced around Entrepreneurship but they all were well interested in the topic and they all had their own reasons to learn and experience more around this topic.
During the Masterclass, students were asked several questions, including these two:
- What is your Dream?
- What is a current Problem you exist yourself/around you?
The dreams that were shared were beautiful and touching. Olmo: ‘’during my studies, I have never really been asked this question. Me and my fellow students were just supposed to follow the courses and take our exams. There never seemed to be room for dreams really’’.
When looking into the problems students could come up with, there was something that came up twice: students struggling with finding a suitable internship (in time). I told them about Stage Global and how they offer such a service to students from all over the world. The students were well able to add some own features to such a service (intermediary for internships), which was very exciting.
This certainly won’t be our last visit to Barcelona – and that’s not only because of the bakery.
